Detlef Ronneburger

Welcome to my virtual home at Rutgers University. I have been here at Rutgers since Fall 1998, first as graduate student and now as adjunct instructor. In October 2004 I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University under the supervision of Eric Allender. I also have a full-time position as assistant professor in the department of Math and Computer Studies at York College at the City University of New York. I have been there since the Fall semester of 2004.

My thesis work was in the area of theoretical computerscience focussing on questions in compexity theory that address connections between Kolmogorov complexity and derandomization. While I am still interested in complexity theory, and theoretical computer science as whole, more recently my research has branched out to more applied topics. More specifically I am investigating how e-mail spam could be reduced with a reputation scheme for e-mail senders, implemented as a peer-to-peer network.
