A New Info Screen?
My life, in words and music:
- My X-Files Page,
the first The X-Files web page ever (so far as I can
determine.) Also, here's a little report for the 1998 New
York X-Files Expo.
- BTW, I wrote an x-files script (which classifies as fan-fiction, actually)
for the show called Renaissance Man.
- M-M-M-Max Headroom! Around 1986, there were some
Max Headroom talk-shows. I dug into my (very dusty) tape
collection and found some. Here are some snippets for you!
- Sci-Fi channel put together what they thought was a mini-series,
but instead put out a mini-sery, Battlestar Galactica (and,
unfortunately, a series to follow). Here's a bit on what went wrong with it.
- The best 15 seconds of top gear. Film students, take
note.
- Sounds and captures from The Wild Wild West Revisited.
- A little page about the myth that Hill Center at
Rutgers, appeared in the movie "Sleeper". It is, however true,
that Mr. Magoo is a
Rutgers alumn.
- My UFO Page,
one of the earliest UFO-specific web pages.
- My
The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. page.
- The
MUFON page, which I maintain.
- My
UFO Bibilography, part of the IUFOG effort.
- In days gone by (the 1980's, mostly), JoSH Hall and I (mostly Josh)
moderated the old Poli-Sci Digest on
the internet. Here's some of the archives.
- In some slightly different days gone by (also the 1980's), various
people (including me) moderated the Human-Nets
Digest, which concerned itself with Human-Computer interactions.
Interesting stuff, actually.
- Here's a bit of a goof - a Due South parody from the Royal Canadian Air Farce.
- In 1996, Kris and I took a (high-speed) tour of western Europe.
In No Sense Abroad
is a chronicle of our adventures, with pictures and "Tips for Travelers".
- Jackie Chan is the most amazing guy in movies. Here's his
filmography
- In my (limited) spare time, I do camera work for the local cable
station; here's a cool shot of the Moon with a plane
flying across it from a recent game (Quicktime), and the
credits
(Quicktime) to prove it was me!
- I've helped out at the FIRST Robotics Regional Tournament
(held at Rutgers) the last couple of years. Here's some
pictures I took,
with a bit of commentary to try and explain what's happening.
- Did you know that Paul is Dead?
- OK, I admit it, I like
Gilligan's Island.
- Long ago I and Eric Klein wrote a Star
Trek: The Next Generation script -- "In Dreams Awake".
- Movie Ratings:
- Want to make movies like Oliver Stone? See what Elvis Mitchell has to say.
- San Francisco Noture: (v3 - 28.8),
(v3 - ISDN),
(v5 - 16kbs),
(v3 - 8.5kbps).
- The main Rutgers INFO
System, which I helped create back in olden days (the early
1990's).
- The Rutgers
Department of Computer Science page, which I help maintain.
- A USAAF Chronology
of WWII, month by month (link newly updated).
- Here are some pictures from a couple of HMGS (Historical Miniatures Gaming
Society) conventions -- Cold Wars 2001
and Historicon
2001.
- As one of my media-learning things, I do camera (or tape, or
audio, or whatever they assign me to) for the local cable company at
nearby sporting events. Here's some pictures from a recent
Minor-League
Baseball Game.
- Some years ago I decided to investigate the Jehovah's Witnesses,
because I wanted to see what these tireless proselytizers were about.
Here's a file I wrote of my findings and experiences
with them (yes, I invited them in, and yes, I lived to talk about it.)
- I've started collecting booknotes on books I've found
interesting.
- Movie attempts (these done with gifbuilder).
- An analysis of the last two episodes of the cult TV show "The
Prisoner" -- Once Upon A
Time, and Fall Out.
- My own little Art Gallery.
- The greatest play by Shakespeare? Julius Caesar, of course.
- A little rant on polling, and
its self-referential framing of public discourse.
- A RealAudio test: Here's some relatively-poor-original-quality spoken
audio, translated into
(28.8),
(28.8 - RealAudio 3.0 encoding),
(14.4), and
(ISDN).
- First stab at realmedia:
56k encoding and LAN
encoding.
