Rezwana Karim

I am a fourth year PhD student in Computer Science Department at Rutgers University. My research interest broadly lies in the area of systems and network security, program analysis for software security and reliability. I am also interested in ubiquitous computing.

I am a member of Laboratory for Networked Systems and Security. My Advisor is Prof. Vinod Ganapathy. Currently I am working with Prof. Vinod Ganapathy and Prof. Chung-cheih Shan on Browser and JavaScript Security. Prior to this I have worked on improving the signature matching efficiency of Network Intrusion Detection System.

I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of engineering and Technology Prior to joining Rutgers, I worked as a Lecturer at Department of computer Sceince and Engineering, BRAC University.

I hail from the beautiful country Bangladesh enriched with Cox's Bazar, the longest sea-beach and Sundarbans, the largest Mangrove Forest in the world. In Bangladesh I used to live in the capital, Dhaka city. My native language is Bengali.

Past Projects

NFA-OBDD: A tool for faster regular-expression based signature matching in Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS). Internally, NIDS represent and operate these regular expressions as finite automata. The tool uses a novel technique for faster, memory efficient Non-deterministic finite automata operation that uses Ordered Binary Decision Diagrams (OBDDs).
Pioneers: A social Network for Researchers. The goal is to increase interaction and collaboration among researchers having same interest.
Personal Data Management Across Cloud (PDMAC): The tool can be used to manage and synchronize user information and activity across multiple social networks
Fair Share Scheduler: LINUX process scheduler ensuring per-user fairness.
Distributed File System: FUSE-based distributed file system.
HDTTP: Hybrid Delay Tolerant Transport Protocol for Vehicular Network.
Ubicomp Secretary: An interoperable, flexible Ubiquitous Computing paradigm, with tiny memory footprint, used to serve as a personal secretary.
Smart Room: Automatic appliance control based on human existence in a room.
4 bit microprocessor: A working microprocessor having RAM, Program counter, stack, Control and address ROM and Registers.
