Florin Sultan

I have graduated from the Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University, where I was a member of the Distributed Computing (DISCO) Laboratory. My advisor was Liviu Iftode. I am currently with NEC Labs, Princeton, New Jersey.

Here is a copy of my Ph.D.thesis, System Support for Service Availability, Remote Healing and Fault Tolerance Using Lazy State Propagation.

My research interests include operating systems, networking, distributed systems, system support for fault-tolerant and highly-available network services, self-healing systems. Here are several of the projects I worked on during my Ph.D.:

Backdoor Architecture, a system architecture for nonintrusive remote healing of computer systems.

Service Continuations, an OS mechanism for dynamic migration of Internet service sessions.

Migratory TCP (M-TCP), a reliable transport protocol that supports dynamic connection migration.
