RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Remote Healing project                       DiscoLab, Rutgers University                                         May 2003 - present

Research on fault tolerance, service continuation, and system reliability in distributed/networked systems. Targeted on non-intrusive monitoring and recovery/repair operations on the systems under failure or attack. Developed a prototype remote healing system for a multi-tier transactional e-commerce service.

Achieved fast detection/recovery capability while preserving the consistency of transactional sessions.

Research Intern                                    NEC Lab                                                                      Sep. 2003 – Dec. 2003

Design and implemented a large-scale distributed infrastructure for end-system multicast

Developed a fast content distribution application base on end-system multicast.

Implemented a distributed deployment/testing/measurement platform within PlanetLab.

Research Assistant                               System Software Lab, Zhejiang University                   Jun. 2000 - Oct. 2001

Participated in the development of an embedded database management system.

Developed the storage management subsystem on limited memory.

Designed and implemented a recovery subsystem for transactional operation.

Designed and implemented the basic SQL operations.
